Holiday season is in full swing in my studio, but not so much in my house. I know some people have already started decorating their homes with Christmas decor, but that's just not me. While I'm always ahead of the season by default, as I have to plan my holiday line well in advance, I always feel behind in my every day life. Most likely, my tree will go up the week before Christmas and I'll attempt to hang the stockings and maybe some lights and a wreath outside here and there before the season has come and gone. So, for the sake of never quite having it together on that front, I might as well celebrate the arrival of the season with you all here.

This past weekend, Andrew and I went to see The Book Thief in the theater in Harbor East. As we left the movie theater, we couldn't help but notice that people seemed a little more cheery, more willing to hold doors for others, and in general a bit happier across the board. We decided that it must have to do with the arrival of the holiday season. There is something about the holidays that just seems to make people slow down from their daily lives and really enjoy the here and now. And as we made our observations, we agreed that this sense of happiness is one of our favorite parts about the holiday season.

Coming out of my spontaneous blogging absence to share a super fun giveaway for Halloween. I don't do giveaways very often, but thought it would be fun to do something for Halloween which is just right around the corner, so I teamed up with my friend Ayla to have a little fun. I'm giving away a set of Halloween pencils and two Halloween cards, and Ayla is giving away the cutest spider web pencil case (seriously, I really wish I could win it!) and a Halloween themed keychain.
